Young Adult Summer Reading Program


All programs are on Thursdays at the Wood River Public Library

** Registration required for all programs.**

This ensures we have enough space, refreshments, and supplies for everyone.

June 11th: 5-7pm Chris McBrien – Handwriting Analysis

What does your handwriting say about you? Join us as Chris McBrien reveals the science of graphology, and explains the science so you can try a bit of analysis of your own!

Pizza will be served. Sign up today!


June 18th: 2-4pm Tie-Dyeing

Whatever the weather, zazz up a plain white T into a colorful work of art.

**BRING YOUR OWN WHITE COTTON T-SHIRT**


June 25th: 2-4pm Duct Tape Wallet

Looking for the perfect one-of-a-kind accessory? Plain silver Duct Tape & colored Sharpies (for decoration) will be provided.

Bring your own colored Duct-tape for a brighter look.


July 2nd: 4-6pm “Grimm’s Grimmest” with Storyteller Judith Heineman and musician Daniel Marcotte

Think you know the real story of Sleeping Beauty? Hear the darker side of your favorite fairy tales as they were originally written.


July 9th: 1:30-4pm “Paint & Plant”

Go Green! Decorate a terra cotta (clay) pot and then plant it! If you do not register for this program before July 4th, you must provide your own clay pot.


July 16th: 5:30-7:30 Librarpardy! The Trivia Extravaganza

It’s just like Jeopardy, only at the library.



Starting June 8th -- Pick up your Book Bingo Card at the Circulation desk or at any YA program.



The Young Adult Summer Reading Program is open to all students entering 6th-12th grade next fall. For more information, call 254-4832 or email katekite@lcls.org.
